1. Pangalokha Wildlife Sanctuary
The Pangalokha Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a wide variety of plants, animals, and mammals. The vast population of birds have made the deep forest their home. Birds like the famed Blood Pheasant, the Kalij Pheasant, the Oriental Honey Buzzard, the White Crusted Laughing Thrush, and the list goes on and on. Naturally, both the photography community and the passionate bird enthusiasts have grown to love the location.
The deep woodland range has more to offer than just the birds. Typical creatures like the Asiatic Black Bear, Red Fox, Clouded Leopard, and Red Panda can be found here in the deep forest, enchanting travelers from all over the world.
2. Thambi viewpoint
While staying in Phadamchen, one can travel to the nearby Thambi viewpoint for a magnificent view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and the sunrise that distributes its gold-flecked rays across the mountain's summit. The viewpoint is only 18 kilometers away and is located at a height of 11,200 feet.
3. Kuikhola Waterfalls
On the route from Rongli to Rorathang and on the way to Zuluk, there is a waterfall. The falls is tucked away in the woods. It features water that is crystal clear and cascades down rocky terrain. Some roadside vendors offer tea and delectable momos.
4. Aritar Lake
The lake falls under the Rongli subdivision, and the area is home to a variety of plants and animals. You may feel as though you have reached heaven after the four-hour drive from Gangtok to Rangpo. Aritar is separated from the rest of the state by Mt. Kanchenjunga in Sikkim's eastern borders. The lake, known as Ghati-Tso locally, is gorgeous. Enjoy the mountains, rivers, and lush vegetation that surround Lake Aritar.
5. Kupup Lake
People find peace in Kupup. This lake is endowed with magnificent beauty. Mother Nature's magnificent setting has done the most to enhance the appearance of the breathtaking lake view. The lake is situated at a height of roughly 13,066 feet. The journey to this location across the Jelepla Pass, which separates India and China, will delight you. According to estimates, this is Bhutan's second-highest mountain range. The lake's form is its best feature. It resembles an elephant exactly. The lake's right side resembles the trunk, while its left side resembles the tail.
6. Zuluk
Zuluk, on the eastern edge of Sikkim, is the ideal location if you wish to explore the spectacular natural splendour of the Himalayas. Fortunately, this location still embraces the rustic efflorescence rather than adopting the modern fantastical lifestyle offered by upscale hotels and resorts. However, this wonderful slice of heaven is slowly growing in popularity as a vacation spot for adventurous hikers and hill-climbing tourists, which is why a few hotels are being built there to assist the tourism industry.
7. Nathang Valley
A high altitude hamlet at 13,500 feet above sea level, Nathang Valley (also known as Gnathang Valley) is encircled by Himalayan mountains covered in snow. In the Indian portion of the Old Silk Route, it is the highest populated location. The Nathang Valley is a cold desert because it is snow-covered for more than half the year, from November to April, and the average temperature is below freezing. The colour of Nathang Valley varies throughout the year; in winter, it is covered in a thick layer of snow; in the monsoon, from June to September, it is abundant with both well-known and unidentified flowers; but in the fall, between October and November, when the grassland has dried up, it takes on a golden hue. Some migrating birds stop here for a few months before winter and then fly to another location.
